Community Guidelines

Connect Local works because customers and providers trust each other. These are the standards everyone on the platform agrees to — and what happens when they are broken.

01Treat everyone with respect

No harassment, threats, discrimination or hate speech based on ethnicity, gender, religion, disability, or any other characteristic. Disagreements happen — handle them professionally through the platform.

02Be honest

  • Providers: represent your real identity, skills, licences and pricing.
  • Customers: describe the job accurately so quotes are fair.
  • No fake accounts, borrowed credentials or impersonation.

03Keep jobs safe

  • Providers must use appropriate safety equipment and follow trade regulations.
  • Customers must provide safe, lawful access to the work site.
  • Either party may stop a job that becomes unsafe — report it and escrow is protected.

04Fair reviews

  • Only review jobs you actually booked and completed.
  • No paid, incentivised, traded or retaliatory reviews.
  • Photos must be your own and show the actual work.
  • Reviews may be removed if they contain personal data, abuse, or are proven false.

05Keep it on the platform

Communicate, book and pay through Connect Local. Off-platform arrangements remove your escrow protection, dispute rights and review history — and repeat attempts to divert payments lead to permanent removal.

06Zero tolerance

Fraud, scams, violence, theft, weapons, illegal services, and sexual misconduct result in immediate permanent bans and, where appropriate, referral to law enforcement.

07How we enforce

  • First minor breach: warning and guidance.
  • Repeat or serious breach: temporary suspension and escrow hold.
  • Severe breach: permanent ban.
  • You may appeal any decision by replying to the enforcement email within 14 days.
